Recently I see the fever of 'Squid game (오징어게임)' all over Youtube.
This makes me feel astonished at how much things have been changed.
Westerners usually have disliked the smell of squid even though it is one of the typical nostalgic smell in Korea.
Interestingly, the media says this movie has made squid sales grow in Western country, along with other Korean style game item. Maybe I won't need to pack the squid tightly and hide well in my luggage when I go abroad thanks to the reputation of this movie. The power of mass media is amazing and speechless.
Also the popularity of this movie reminds me the movie 'Parasite'. The stories of these two movies are totally different but the subject has something in common which makes me think about capitalism or materialism. This movie just showed the exaggeration of our real life but I can't help feeling sad and scared since the movie usually reflects our future lives.
